Haven Care was founded from our own families' experience of caring for ageing parents. Our journey continues today, and it continues to shape the empathy, respect and understanding we bring to every family we support.
Our experiences continue to shape Haven Care's values and the way we care. We know every family's circumstances are different, and that decisions aren't always immediate. That's why we take the time to listen, understand what matters most to you, and support you at your own pace, without pressure. Whether you need help today or are simply exploring your options, we're here whenever you're ready.
Haven Care was born from deeply personal experiences. We understand the emotional and practical challenges families face when a loved one needs care - because we've lived it ourselves.
Trish's journey began during the 2020 lockdown when her mother was unexpectedly hospitalised. Under pressure with few options available, the family moved her parents into hospital care in a retirement village. It became apparent that retirement village care was not suitable for their parents. With the support of trusted nurses and caregivers, Trish was able to care for her parents at home - giving her mother three more precious years of life, family, and dignity. Her father, now 96, continues to live independently with the help of in-home care.
Fiona didn't expect to be thrown into caregiving, but when her dad suddenly became ill, she and her sister stepped in together. Alongside other family members, they did their best to support their parents. Figuring out daily routines, making tough decisions, and trying to keep things steady. A priority was finding care options that respected their parents' independence. It wasn't perfect or easy, but they worked together and made it work. Fiona's dad passed away four months later, and while the grief is still there, Fiona finds comfort in knowing he felt their love and support.
Our experiences have shaped Haven Care's values. We understand firsthand how important it is to balance dignity with support, and how much it means to families to feel seen, heard, and cared for. Haven Care was born from that place - personal experience and a belief in compassionate, respectful care.
We understand that care decisions aren't always immediate. That's why we offer flexible support giving families time and space to consider their options and move forward when they're ready. We know the journey isn't easy. But we can walk with you, offering a tailored plan with practical care and reassurance.
