What personal care can look like

Support that fits your day

John enjoys living in his own home, but arthritis and reduced mobility have made everyday routines more difficult. Standing for long periods is tiring, and he no longer feels confident showering or managing some daily tasks on his own.

In the morning, his caregiver helps John shower, get dressed and ready for the day before preparing breakfast and sharing a cup of tea together. Once breakfast is finished, his caregiver makes the bed, puts on a load of washing, tidies the kitchen and prepares a simple lunch so it's ready for later. Before leaving, they check John has everything he needs within easy reach and, if he's feeling up to it, spend a little time outside in the garden or take a short walk to keep him active.

Later that afternoon, his caregiver returns to prepare dinner while John keeps them company at the kitchen table. They enjoy the meal together, chat about the day and tidy the kitchen afterwards. After dinner, John's caregiver gently reminds him to take his medication, helps him with his bedtime routine and settles him comfortably into bed, making sure his phone, glasses, water and anything else he might need overnight are close by.

Having support at the beginning and end of the day means John can continue living comfortably and confidently in the home he loves, knowing help is there when he needs it most.

Every person's routine is different. Some people need a little help each morning, others have support morning and evening, while some require more frequent care throughout the day. Whatever that looks like, we tailor our support to fit each person's needs, preferences and daily routine.
